Packing and Preparations
If there’s one rule I live by when traveling to paradise, it’s this: travel light. Seriously, you don’t want to carry around more than you need. Keep it minimal—a smartphone (equipped with QR code scanners), a power bank, a few clothes and money. After all, the lighter your load, the faster you’ll be frolicking on those gorgeous beaches! There are a lot of thrift stores and convenience stores in the island, so if you need anything, you can easily buy one without breaking the bank.
Of course, I can’t forget my travel kit! We’ve just launched our new ‘Kit Ako’ travel essentials kit. If you’re interested, you can order it easily through our shop page or Facebook page.
Embracing the Unexpected
Our Boracay trip was based on D.I.Y. plans. Sometimes, the unplanned adventures are the best ones.
We arrived at the airport earlier than expected, which gave us time to unwind. Massage chairs, a quick snack at Jollibee—total bliss before even stepping onto the island.
As we flew towards Boracay Island, peering out the window, the island’s beauty became clearer with every passing minute. And when we finally touched down? Instant love.
ONE: Boracay Beachfront
After all the initial document checks and transport arrangements (which are way smoother than you’d expect), we made our way to La Carmela de Boracay—our beachfront haven.
Exploring the Boracay beachfront? Oh, it’s an absolute must-do! Imagine this: fine, powdery white sand sinking between your toes while you stroll along a stretch that seems to go on forever. The sun? Always ready to give you a golden tan (or burnt skin in my case). Whether your exploring station 1, 2 or 3 of the island beach fronts, expect to just fall in love with the beauty, especially at sunset.
The best part? Whether you’re here for a romantic sunset walk, building sandcastles with the kids, or simply people-watching while sipping a coconut, there’s something for everyone. Adventure-seeker? Try paddleboarding or skimboarding. Prefer chilling? Find a spot, soak up that sun, and let your worries drift away with the waves.
TWO: Helmet Diving at Boracay
We dove straight into adventure. From helmet diving (yes, it’s as cool as it sounds) to snorkeling in those clear blue waters. The waves were occasionally wild, but it added to the fun!
When we first geared up, there was a mix of excitement and a little bit of that “oh wow, am I really doing this?” moment. But once under the water? Pure magic. Schools of fish darted around, and it felt like starring in a real-life nature documentary—minus the need for a snorkel or scuba skills. Just a few feet below the surface, we walked along the sandy sea floor, guided by friendly divers who made sure everything was a breeze.
Every step felt like a discovery. One moment you’re marveling at corals, and the next, you’re surrounded by fish that couldn’t care less about personal space. They’d swim right up, curious to see if you’ve got snacks (spoiler alert: you don’t, but they’ll hang around anyway). We even tried a bit of underwater hand-waving and dance-offs. Because why not? You’re underwater in Boracay!
THREE: Parasailing and Conquering Your Fear of Heights!
But, hands down, parasailing was the showstopper. We did hit a snag when our boat needed a last-minute rescue, but hey, what’s a little detour by jetski when you’re already floating over paradise? The views from up there were something I’ll never forget—Boracay laid out below like a dreamy painting.
Hands down, it was the showstopper. The thrill kicked in as the wind tugged at the parachute, and suddenly, we were lifted—slowly, then all at once—rising high above the sparkling turquoise waters. Boracay stretched beneath us like a dreamy postcard come to life. White sand beaches, lush greens, and that endless, glittering sea—honestly, it’s the kind of view that makes you want to pinch yourself.
Of course, this wouldn’t be a proper adventure without a hiccup or two. Our boat, as it turns out, decided it needed a bit of a rescue mission. A last-minute one. Cue the entrance of a jetski! While most people might’ve seen it as an inconvenience, for us, it was just another dash of excitement in the mix. Floating above paradise and then getting swooped into a mini rescue? Now that’s a story worth telling!
But back to the sky-high views—there’s nothing quite like it. Up there, the wind whispers in your ear and all you hear is the rush of air and your own breath. The sea glimmers like crushed diamonds, and you feel weightless, a part of the sky itself. I’m not saying parasailing is life-changing, but if you’ve never soared above one of the world’s most stunning islands, you’re missing out.
FOUR: Exploring the Island on Wheels: Zetro ATV Adventure
Muddy trails and adrenaline-pumping off-road rides? Oh, we were so ready!
With helmets strapped on and engines roaring, we took off. The trail? Wild, muddy, and bursting with adventure. Each twist and turn sent splashes of mud flying—a badge of honor for any off-road junkie. There were moments when the path got so bumpy that we couldn’t help but laugh at ourselves, gripping the handlebars for dear life. Mud flew everywhere, and with every rut and puddle, we embraced the mess. After all, isn’t that what off-roading is all about?
The views were something else, too. As we zoomed through trails flanked by lush greenery, it was like nature’s rollercoaster. Pure exhilaration mixed with the earthy scent of rain-soaked paths. We raced each other, joked about who’d get the muddiest (spoiler: everyone), and soaked in every second.
FIVE: Jet Ski Excitement and Beachfront Vibes
On our final full day, it was time to unleash our inner speed demons. Nothing compares to skimming across the water on a jet ski with the wind in your hair and the ocean beneath you. Even though dining options were limited, Cha Cha’s Restaurant delivered big time with delicious meals to keep us going.
Afterward, we soaked up the last rays of sun on the beach and by the pool. It was the perfect chill ending to a whirlwind of adventure.
SIX: Island Hopping
First stop was Puka Beach. Stepping onto that fine, powdery sand was like entering another realm. The scenery was simply stunning—lush greenery framing a perfect shoreline, with the sea breeze carrying a hint of salt and freedom. I took my time just wandering, soaking in every wave and every whisper of wind.
Then came what I was most excited for—snorkeling. We kicked off at Balinghai Beach and continued through Coral Garden and Crocodile Island (no crocs here, just a quirky rock formation). As soon as I dipped beneath the water, it was like stepping into a living computer wallpaper.
The day wasn’t over yet. Lunch was served at Tambisaan Beach. The food was okay for its price. The fine sand warmed my feet, and I couldn’t help but feel like time had paused just for this moment. It was more than a meal; it was a chance to truly savor where I was and everything around me.
There was also an option to try a Kawa Bath—which, ironically, was located near the lunch buffet.
SEVEN: Explore Restaurants and Shops
After a quick shopping spree at D’Mall—because let’s face it, no trip is complete without snagging a few souvenirs—we treated ourselves to an indulgent Italian feast at Aria Cucina Italiana. Picture this: fresh pasta, rich sauces, and flavors so authentic they could whisk you away to Rome with every bite. With our taste buds thoroughly satisfied, we set our sights on more exploration. Station 2 called, with its buzzing mix of shops, eateries, and local spots just waiting to be discovered. It was a blend of colorful markets, trendy boutiques, and delicious food stalls that kept the excitement going.
EIGHT: You Thought There Were Only 8? Think Again!
Think you’ve covered it all? Not even close! Beyond the main attractions, Boracay offers even more thrills and hidden gems. Glide across Bulabog Beach while kiteboarding, or sail off into the sunset aboard a traditional paraw. For the brave, Ariel’s Point offers cliff-diving thrills, while the island’s beachside spas let you unwind to the sound of the waves. Discover the quieter charm of Diniwid Beach, dive into the nightlife scene, or savor unique eats like the famous Chori Burger. Add mermaid swimming classes, paddleboarding at sunrise, and vibrant local festivals to your itinerary. In Boracay, every corner reveals a new adventure!
Why Boracay Still Shines in 2025
Listen, Boracay’s not just a destination; it’s an experience. Sure, the island’s had its fair share of challenges—remember the 2018 closure for environmental rehab? That six-month hiatus was a game-changer, but it’s only made Boracay even more worth visiting. With cleaner beaches, eco-friendly tricycles, and a commitment to sustainability, Boracay is better than ever.
And if you’re into watersports, this place is your playground. Whether you’re parasailing, kitesurfing at Bulabog Beach, or just soaking in those insane sunsets from the famous White Beach, Boracay’s got something for everyone.
